After Double Trap, Harlan Coben betrays Netflix and announces a project with Prime Video!

Harlan Coben doesn’t stop. The American author is currently working on a new projectThis time for Prime Video, while his latest series Double Trap continues to be a hit on Netflix. Danny Brocklehurst, the screenwriter of the latter, will also write with him.

Koben codes

Entitled Lazarus, this miniseries is not adapted from one of his novels, but was entirely imagined by Coben and Brocklehurst. It tells about a man returning to his hometown after his father’s suicide. Then he begins a strange experience and finds himself involved in a murder case related to the disappearance of his father and the murder of his sister 25 years ago.

This thriller includes Harlan Coben’s Codes of Mystery, a hero looking for answers in the past, and a fascinating investigation. The casting of Lazarus is already known: Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & The Six) will star as Lazy, a forensic psychologist who left home to escape the pain (related to his sister’s death?).

Bill Nye portrays his late father. He is presented as a doctor respected by all. It is also “Charming, funny and charismatic like his son”. Actress Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve) will play the role of Jenna Lazarus. This is Lazi’s second sister.

A big hit for Prime Video

Prime Video renews faith in Harlan Coben despite the failure of their last collaboration. This summer, the two sides worked on Uncovered, a series centered on Mickey Bolitar. It was not renewed for a second season after disappointing audiences.

But Lazarus could be a game changer for the streaming platform. Cobain goes back to what he does best – a straight-up thriller – and announces from the start that this is a mini-series. The story has to be effective enough to make people want to come back week after week to watch the episodes.
