Production has officially begun on the highly anticipated Outlander prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and as Deadline reveals, the series will focus not only on the lives and relationship of Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) parents, but also on Claire (Caitriona Balfe)!

On Jamie’s side, his mother Ellen McKenzie will be played by Harriet Slater (Pennyworth, Indiana Jones and the Clock of Destiny), and his father Brian Fraser will be played by Jamie Roy (The Condor’s Nest). As for Claire’s parents, Julia Morriston and Henry Beauchamp, they will be played by Hermione Corfield (Kirsty McLeod’s Last Dance, We Hunt Together) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), respectively.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television for Starz, the series will be filmed in Scotland and will therefore focus on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, Jamie’s parents in the early 18th century in the Scottish Highlands and Claire’s in World War I England. .

Diana Gabaldoni, author of the novels that inspired the original series, will also serve as a consulting producer.

During this time, OutlanderIt continues its little (big) journey: the second part of its 7th season is scheduled to air in 2024. However, the series will end with the eighth and final season.
