Scorer of a Santos goal, Hayner celebrates a point away from home, but regrets a goal conceded with an extra man on the pitch
Hayner opened the scoring after just 14 minutes in the match between Mirassol and Santos, this Sunday (11), in the seventh round of the Campeonato Paulista. Then, he saw his opponent draw. Then, Peixe made it 2-1 and, with another on the pitch, conceded the equalizer in added time in the second half. At the end of the match, undeniably disappointed, he admitted that he did not expect this result given the circumstances of the match.
“The draw was bitter, yes. We were ahead and conceded a goal at the end. This was the first of two matches away from home. Now we will try to beat San Paolo,” he commented.
Hayner’s first goal with the Santos shirt
The beauty of the match, at least for Hayner, was the fact that the attacker scored his first goal with the Peixe shirt. Furthermore, he won the best of the match award.
“I was very happy with the goal. In short, it is the result of a lot of work. I was crowned by being able to make a good shot. The performance is not thanks to me. It is the work of the whole team”, he analysed.
Despite leaving behind two points practically earned, Santos continues with the best season of the competition, with 16 points.
