M3GAN 2.0, sequel to the 2023 hit, has its debut postponed

M3GAN 2.0, sequel to the successful horror film released in early 2023, will hit theaters a little later than fans expected. Previously scheduled to premiere on January 17, 2025, the same time the first film premiered, the film was delayed by a few months and will now premiere on May 16 of the same year.

The first film follows Gemma (Allison Williams, Run!), who works at a toy company and develops a new doll with artificial intelligence called M3GAN. When her niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House) loses his parents and goes to live with Gemma, she decides that the prototype doll might be the best companion for the girl, not knowing how terrifying the doll can be. With 93% approval on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoesthe film won over horror fans and became one of the genre’s biggest financial successes in 2023, grossing around US$180 million around the world, which soon resulted in the announcement of a second film.

For now, there is little news about M3GAN 2.0 have been released, but we already know that director Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) and screenwriter Akela Cooper (Malignant) will return to their posts in the sequel, as will the protagonists Allison Williams It is Violet McGraw.
