Hitting our theaters this Wednesday, February 14, did Vivants convince its first-time audiences? While it averages 3.1 out of 5 from the press and 3.3 out of 5 from the public, thanks to 132 people* who have rated it so far (including 36 critics), Vivants has a small selection of viewer reviews.
After the feature films Angèle et Tony and Le Dernier Coup de Hammer, Alix Delaporte, former journalist, returns with a feature film. Life, which is dedicated to the life of a group of journalists. Directed by Alisa Aizaz, Roshdi Zemi, Pascal Arbilot, Vincent Elbaz and Pierre Lotin, the film takes us into the life of a newsroom.
Vivants strives to help us discover the other side of the profession. This aspect is one of the qualities emphasized by the audience, as well as the accuracy of the interpretation of its cast.
They liked it
skyborder1 (5/5): “What a pleasure to watch a film whose purpose is not to insult the world we live in, but which tries to remind us with subtlety and nuance that there are people with ideals who despite (or thanks to) their experiences and their clarity still believe in a better world. I salute the wonderful ensemble of actors who portray their characters so well that we feel like we are part of their gang.“
Jean-Pierre Jumes (4.5/5):A good description of the reporting environment. ᲕᲢᲚᲕᲕᲦᲖᲦᲝ. The teams are on edge, but they couldn’t live without this constant tension! Actors and actresses will immerse us in the bath with their talent.“
Bob W. (5/5):Alive tells the story of the end of an era when investigative journalists, great reporters, could go to the other side of the world to inform, seek the truth and investigate. (…) is the end of the melody, it’s a bit sad and charming. It is a wonderful film, with great emotion and sincerity.”

They liked it less or didn’t like it
Paul B (3.5/5):The cast has some great actors who did not disappoint. The script is not very sophisticated, but it is very original.“
Lucy F. (2/5):It’s a shame that it starts off well, it tackles a few issues without digging in and ultimately goes nowhere. We could have left on that pleasant note
Spoiler:
Without the script being thrown at us, it’s almost a romance between an intern who’s quite enamored of her mentor and an almost sixty-year-old. Frankly, a pompom that adds very zero notes to the film.“
Bertrand Barbeau (0.5/5):The director receives a group of journalists in the field. He is quick to forget that his characters are part of the mainstream media, subsidized by the orders of those in power. Everything in this movie is fake, artificial, everything is fake and pure demagoguery. Actors mimic the real work of journalists.“
