The next generation of Xbox will have the biggest performance leap ever

Phil Spencer claims that the next Xbox will have the biggest performance leap ever seen in the entire history of Microsoft consoles; watch

A Microsoft last Thursday (15th) held a live broadcast where Phil Spencer and other Xbox executives presented plans for the company’s gaming segment. Furthermore details on exclusivityGame Pass and games from Activision BlizzardSpencer briefly tackled the role of hardware in the gaming segment and stated that the next Xbox it will have “the biggest technical leap ever seen”.

The statements refute recent rumors that the next generation would feature only minor improvements. Another point made by Phil Spencer is that the intention is to allow users to carry their game libraries with them for the next generations, so the Backward compatibility is a very important point.

“We are focused on delivering the biggest technical leap ever in a new generation of hardware, making it better for players, creators and the visions they are building.

One of the ideas we have [como parte da Microsoft] for game development is to look at Windows and see how it has maintained program compatibility for decades, (…) and we’re trying to bring that same vision to consoles”

Play wherever you want, but preferably on Xbox

From the end of the generation of Xbox one, Microsoft has invested in making players’ access to the company’s games more flexible. OR Game passage and Xbox Cloud are just examples of this movement, but opening up the release of previously exclusive intellectual properties to other consoles is the next logical step.

The Xbox CEO also said that the company is taking players’ new priorities into consideration when choosing its main platform. Truly unique aspects of a console are increasingly important as a sales factor for new hardware.

So despite Xbox’s strategy of actively acting as a cross-platform publisher, they are focusing on creating a new console that “unleash the full potential and creativity” of the development teams. Yes, it will be possible to choose which “screen to play on” Xbox titles, but proprietary hardware it will still be offered as the best platform to get the most out of the house’s games.
