La Casa de Papel has had enormous success with audiences in the years in which it has been broadcast on Netflix. And a spin-off series is reaping these rewards. Berlin, a spin-off named after a central character, has been renewed for a second season, as confirmed by the streaming giant.

On its official Twitter/X accounts, Netflix announced that the series will get a new year. The news appeared on both the Brazilian Netflix account and the original account, in English. Actor Pedro Alonso returns reprising the main character.

The Brazilian announcement was made with a photo of the cast, however, on the company’s original account, the tweet was accompanied by a short video showing the character, Berlin, briefly in an elevator.

There is still no precise information on when the next season will arrive in the Netflix catalog, but the certainty that Berlin will have its second year is already a cause for celebration for fans of the character and the series.

Berlin’s story shows the character’s life before the events of La Casa de Papel

La Casa de Papel, which introduced the character Berlin and many others that have captured the public’s imagination, such as The Professor, Tokyo, Rio and Lisbon, debuted in late 2017 and ran for five seasons, ending in 2021.
