Test yourself on Yvain’s character lines in the Kaamelott series! From misunderstandings to Arthur’s instructions to parent reprimands to misunderstandings, check to see if you remember his mythical passages well in the Alexander Astier show.
In the series, Ivan is still not the “Knight of the Lion” of Arthur legend. He is the only son-in-law of Arthur, the brother of Queen Guinevere and the son of sister Sella and Leodagan. His best friend is Gavinia, who is the nephew of King Arthur. Suffice it to say that Ivan is one of those people who counts in the Camelot … or not!
Absent from the first part of Camelot in the movie, Ivan is portrayed as a rather stupid character in the series and is written as a young man in the midst of a teenage crisis. Against capricious, rebellious (soft) parents, does not understand much, and as if wondering what they are trying to implant in him, Ewen is not the most useful among the knights wishing for the Camelot in search of the Grail.
He is portrayed by Simon Astie, Alexander Astie’s half-brother, who made a name for himself with his own series, Hero Corp, which developed over 4 seasons with Xavier Matthews, and most recently the fantastic comedy Visitors, which aired on Warner TV. Short series mini-series have emerged around Hero Corp: Archives, Klaus’ Way, Kyle’s Premonitions or The Survivors.
Simon Astier is also a director and has worked at Mortel for Netflix, Profiling and Alice Nevers. He also filmed all eight episodes of The Visitors. Will we see him again as an actor in the second part of the two parts of Camelot in the cinema? Will Ewen become the Knight of the Lion? Will he be the adult and brave hero who will come to support Arthur against all adversity? To be continued !
