Stone starred in ‘Poor Creatures’, a film directed by Lanthimos that competes for 11 Oscar awards
Emma Stone can repeat the success of Poor Creatures working on new project Yorgos Lanthimoswhich will remake Save the Green Planet. The new version of the South Korean comedy should start filming in June, in the United Kingdom and New York.
Save The Green Planet is an offbeat comedy involving a disillusioned young man who captures and tortures a businessman he believes is part of an alien invasion. A battle of wits begins between the captor, his devoted girlfriend, the businessman and a private detective.
The project will mark the sixth work of stone with Lanthimos. The duo was together in The favorite (2018) and in the film that premieres at the end of this year, Kinds of Kindness. Poor Creaturesin turn, competes for 11 awards in the Oscar.
The original version of Save The Green Planet was directed by Jang Joon-hwan in 2003 and became a cult hit. The film won awards at fantasy festivals including those in Bucheon, Buenos Aires and Brussels, Rotterdam, Tokyo Filmex and Moscow. It also yielded Jang O Golden Bell Award for best new director in Korea in 2003.
