Osasco wins their ninth consecutive match in the Women’s Superliga

Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde achieved another victory in the Women’s Volleyball Super League. The team went to Rio de Janeiro and defeated Fluminense 3-1, with scores of 25/15, 25/23, 14/25 and 25/17. With this result Osasco remains in second place in the Superliga and has won nine in a row. Already at the bottom of the table there was a change to the relegation zone. Brasilia beat Unilife Maringá 3-0 (25/22, 25/19 and 27/25) and exited Z2.

In the first set Osasco had an overwhelming performance. With their serve growing, the team weakened Fluminense’s passing, ensuring a comfortable victory in the first half. In the second set the match was balanced, with the Tricolore managing to remedy the errors at the start of the game. Despite this, Osasco managed to prevail by taking a 2-0 lead. The Rio team reacted in the third set. With Osasco starting to make more mistakes, Fluminense dominates the partial, reducing the difference on the scoreboard. But soon Osasco returns to dominate the match and closes the match 3-1.

With 24 points in the match, Osaska’s opponent Tifanny was the top scorer of the match. She also received the Viva Vôlei Trophy, as the best player of the evening. “There were three important points to try to reach the Sesc Flamengo, which unlocks the Superliga. We are breathless because they beat us at home and now we want to give revenge to each of them”, said the athlete referring to the classic against Sesc Flamengo in the next round.

Brasilia leaves the relegation zone

In the other match of the evening, Brasília Vôlei achieved an important result in their fight against relegation. The team from the Federal District reached the 17th round of the Superliga in 11th place. But with the 3-0 victory over Maringá this Wednesday, Brasilia moved out of the relegation zone. The team reached 15 points, with four wins and 13 defeats, overtaking Pinheiros who has 14 points and dropped to 11th place. Maringá risks exiting the playoff zone with the defeat, with the risk of being overtaken by the Bluvôlei still in the running for this round.
