Both on console and PC
Larian Studios has reported that Baldur’s Gate 3 will get official mod support on consoles and computers, with the new feature expected to be available later this year.
“We usually don’t talk about things until they’re ready, but as you may have read, we’re making an exception. We are working on a robust cross-platform plan for mod support, which will be released later this year. We love our modding community and want to support it,” He said editorial director Michael Douse on social media.
“We have a system, but it needs to be tested and still requires work. We are thrilled about it. I understand it sucks when the game updates and mods break. Our community teams will start talking and interacting with the modding community. For now the work continues”He added.
Speaking further on the matter, WombatMedic, the senior community strategist of Larian Studios’ official Discord, said that they have been working on it for some time. According to him, they intend to offer support for players to create mods for “things like classes, interface, customization, spells, and some game materials and mechanics”.
Because it’s something that “It’s not an easy task” to do, makes it clear that the team intends to present itself “the first steps of mod support in our next major update”which should only come from here “different months”especially considering that the game’s last major update came out last week.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
