The Batman director has revealed what the past holds for his version of the Joker, played by Barry Keogan in his feature film, and which we will soon see on screen again.
The Joker character has always been an object of fascination for Batman fans. This psychopath, who wears a clown costume to terrorize Gotham City, the Dark Knight Enemy, has already seen adaptations of many films in the form of Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson, including The Mask.
If the superhero is still talking about him, it’s because he briefly appears in Batman, a remake of the adventures of filmmaker Matt Reeves Bruce Wayne. The character is only briefly shown in a theatrical feature film, and Warner Bros. chose to upload a deleted scene about the reunion of Batman and the Joker (played by Barry Keogan). The sequence that shows this … from all angles!
Following the leak, director Matt Reeves spoke variety Explain where his joker came from, who has his own story and reveals a rather tortured character:
“This is not the version in which he fell into the pot of chemicals that destroyed his face, nor is it what Nolan did by playing with the mystery of where his scars came from.”Says Reeves. He follows:
What if this boy was born with a disease and was cursed? He had a smile that people thought was grotesque and horrible, and even as a child people looked at him horribly. His response then was, “Well, I was deceived,” and that was what created his nihilistic view of the world.
With the microphoneIGNHe added that his Joker’s inspiration was David Lynch’s elephant man, confirming the character’s “probable” vision, which was born with a deformation that would gradually remove him from the world.
Whether Barry Keogan will return to the role, Matt Reeves said, is open to him whether it will lead to a Batman sequel or a series on Arkham Asylum, which he is currently working on for the HBO Max platform. As for Batman 1, he is still in theaters.
