Director Greta Gerwig is enthusiastic about the film Barbiereleased last year and nominated for an Oscar in several categories, but according to her, before shooting the award-winning film, her screenplay for the remake of The Chronicles of Narnia it had already been written. Greta is confirmed to helm two adaptations of the franchise Narnia, both films for Netflix. Once free from commitments for the Oscar season Barbiesays he will focus on continuing film-related work.
Despite already being a successful director, Greta admitted she was “very scared” of the idea of adapting CS Lewis’ novels, which have a solid base of discerning fans, but she sees motivation in this sentiment.
“I think when I’m scared it’s always a good sign. Maybe when I stop being afraid, that’s when I’ll say, “Maybe I shouldn’t do this.” But if I’m afraid of it, it’s amazing and exciting,” she said.
As for having started working on the first screenplays of The Chronicles of Narnia Before Barbieshe says it’s part of a process she has with herself to be able to realize all her projects.
“Knowing that I laid the initial foundation for Narnia and the desire to get back to that is something I’ve established psychologically for myself. The right thing, at least for me, is to continue making films. Whatever happens, for better or for worse, we must continue,” said the director.

“The work is linked to English folklore and fairy tales, but with a combination of different traditions.
