Leader, Xabi Alonso’s team is approaching the German Championship title
Bayern Levekusen took to the field this Friday (23rd), in a match valid for the 23rd round of the Bundesliga, and beat Mainz 05 2-1, reaching the longest unbeaten record in German football, with 33 matches . Xhaka and Robert Andrich were the scorers, while Kohr scored.
With this result, Xabi Alonso’s team rises to 61 points and remains firmly at the top of the German championship, followed by Bayern Munich, with 50. Mainz 05, in turn, is in the relegation zone, in 17th place, with 15.
⚽HOW DID THE MATCH GO?
German football sensation, leader, with one foot on the title and now with the country’s longest unbeaten record, Bayer Leverkusen beat Mainz, but not easily.
Two minutes into the first half, Grimaldo, on the right wing, attempts a cross, but is blocked. Elsewhere, again from outside the area, Xhaka hits a nice left-footed shot, scoring a great goal, with no escape for goalkeeper Zentner.

The beginning of the dispute showed that it would be a game. Shortly afterwards, in the 7th minute, Mainz equalized through Kohr. From a free kick, Widmer headed to the center of the area and found the defender ready to head the ball into the net.

The turning point came only in the second half, in the 22nd minute, with a nice ‘chicken’ from the goalkeeper. In exchange for passes to the center, Andrich took a shot from distance and saw Robin Zentner unable to hold onto the ball and let it pass into the goal.
