A little Eleven, a little Hermione: this is how Millie Bobby Brown describes the strength of her protagonist in the new Netflix film, Damsel

Maiden, the most recent Netflix original production, starring Millie Bobby Brown, will soon arrive in the streaming catalogue.

Millie Bobby Brownthe young actress who achieved stardom through the series Stranger things, returns to Netflix for another release. The film Girl follows the character Elodie (Bobby Brown), in a saga to save her life, all without the help of any Prince Charming.

In a statement released by Netflix itself (via: Glamor in the UK), Millie Bobby Brown defends her fearless protagonist as “a damsel who doesn’t need saving.” She says, “she saves herself in many ways. She subverts what you expect: you’re waiting for the prince to turn around and save her, and… no. Don’t wait for the prince.”

The actress is still confronted two of his greatest characters from the past: Eleven, from Stranger Things e Enola Holmesfrom the also original feature film to Netflix, to reiterate how unique Donzela’s construction process was:

“With Eleven […] or with Enola Holmes, I can draw a bit of Hermione in Harry Potter. I couldn’t find anyone for Elodie and so I knew I had to raise her, meet her along the way, figure out her weaknesses and her strengths and really create a life and a journey for her.“.
