Poor Creatures: Emma Stone confesses that eating cream puffs was a bigger challenge than recording sex scenes

Emma Stone talked about the challenges she faced in playing Bella Baxter in Poor Creatures. The actress was nominated for Oscar for the role and participated in a panel at Saturday’s Celebration of the Nominees for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

stone spoke again about the nude scenes she starred in and explained that they were not difficult parts to record: “Bella’s sexuality was another part of it, and how it would be filmed, how we were going to do it, our incredible intimacy coordinator, and our sets closed and everything. In a way, that was the easiest part because it was choreographed.”

“They were quick. We knew exactly what we were doing,” he continued. She then stated that the most difficult part was portraying some of Baxter’s emotions and quirks, including his eating habits.

“Discovering how to walk or eat 60 custard tarts, where the first bite is delicious, but at the end you really want to vomit”, he exemplified. “Or her seeing death and decay for the first time, much more challenging than nudity, which is the only thing people seem to want to ask me about.”
