The matches of the second phase of the Copa do Brasil will begin on Wednesday (6); In this phase, a draw determines the classification on penalties
The CBF released the dates and times of the second phase of the Copa do Brasil on Friday evening (1). With almost all the clashes settled, the national competition will see the duels of this phase begin next Wednesday, with the duel between Real Brasilia and Atlético Goianiense.
There will still be three matches on Thursday, but the bulk of the clashes will take place in the second week of March. The only comparison that is still undefined is the one involving Retrô. The Pernambuco team still doesn’t know whether to play against Fluminense-PI or Fortaleza. The winner of this clash will emerge on Sunday evening, officially closing the first phase of the competition.
In the second phase of the Copa do Brasil the clashes are still a single match, but with a difference. There is no draw advantage for any team, and a tie leads, necessarily, to penalties. Clubs that qualify for the third phase guarantee a prize pool of R$2.205 million.
