Why did Marina Fois agree to play in the series?
In an interview to promote Furies, Marina Foys spoke to AlloCiné about what drew her to star in the series. And it was this non-traditional role that convinced the actor to participate in the project.
“I’ve always been drawn to it because I’ve never done it. I am always attracted to what I fear“- he explained to us. “When I read the scripts for Furies, something struck me. I find that the series is in the middle of two things that I love.”
“On the one hand, the series was a slightly strange Korean cinema, which we do not have an equivalent in Europe, on the other hand, there was an aspect of an Italian mafia movie. Bringing the two together gives the series quite a new tone.”
“I had a new pitch”
In addition to the special style of Furies, Marina Foys was also seduced by the character of Selma, which is unlike any other role played in her long career.
“To play the character of Fury, I had an intuition that I had to show off a little bit. And I couldn’t remember how to appear in my previous projects. I told myself I had a new pitch.“

“We also have to add stunts and the physical side, which I’ve obviously never done. And to never do it again, because let’s be honest, who would suggest that to me? You must have an idea. These are all reasons why I had no arguments for rejection.”
The sentiment is shared by Lina El Arabi, who plays the character of Lina. The actor was also fascinated by the originality of Furies and especially the American influence of its staging. “I thought I would have to have an international career to do this type of series“, he confided. “Being able to stay in my country and do that with the Furies is crazy luck.”
