With the aim of incorporating an existing trend in other services and bringing a new dynamic to the television watching experience, Zapping, a streaming service, launched Zapping Mix. This is a multi-screen feature that allows users to watch different channels on the same screen.
According to Nacho Opazo, co-founder and CTO of Zapping, the idea is that subscribers can behave as if they were real “TV directors” and follow their favorite programs in a broad and special way.
In addition to multiview technology and extra channels, viewers can revisit content from the last 7 days. Zapping also allows the user to view the X (formerly Twitter) feed in an integrated way, allowing the public to follow in real time the comments, memes and debates occurring on the social network.
For the foreseeable future, Zapping already plans to expand the use of multiview technology beyond the BBB. This week the four main open TV channels gained space in Zapping Mix, available to all subscribers. Sports news and editorials are expected to be next to receive the feature.
“We are committed to developing new innovations on a platform that many companies already considered dead. We see a great opportunity, as few companies are investing in television technology. We hope to surprise you at the end of this year with innovations that will transform the way we watch TV,” concludes the Zapping CTO.
