Super Mario Bros 2: Nintendo confirms sequel and release date

It’s official! Super Mario Bros. two is coming and already has a release date. According to Shigeru Miyamoto, of Nintendo, and Chris Meledandri, of Illumination Entertainment, the next film is in development and is scheduled for release on April 3, 2026.

During the announcement, Nintendo also released some news about its games, including the arrival of the new version of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for Switch and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, a remaster of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, for 3DS . They will be available on May 23rd and June 27th respectively.

According to The Verge, with the recent announcement of a live-action Legend of Zelda film, we now have not one, but two confirmed films in development based on Nintendo’s major intellectual properties. However, there is still little information about the Zelda movie.
