Viral moment of Messi clapping was filmed before the 2024 Oscars

After several studios protested against his presence at the 96th edition of Oscarwhich happened last Sunday (10), the little dog Messiin Anatomy of a Fall (2023), not only was among the guests, but also stole the show at several moments of cinema’s biggest awards show.

However, one of the moments Messi in the competition, in which he appears clapping in the audience, it didn’t happen as everyone initially believed. In fact, the recording, which went viral on social media, was recorded before the event and only included in the final edition of the event.

At the ceremony, Messi appeared clapping for Robert Downey Jr.after the actor won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Oppenheimerlong Christopher Nolan. However, according to Chris Gardnerreporter for The Hollywood Reporter, the scene was recorded before the ceremony began, so as not to stress the animal. Check out:

Initially, Messi would not appear at the awards ceremony, after several studios claimed that his presence could give an unfair advantage to Anatomy of a Fall, which ended up winning just the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. In the end, the puppy appeared as a surprise at the awards ceremony and captivated everyone present.
