Rey Will Be A ‘Different’ Jedi In New ‘Star Wars’ Movie: What Does It Mean?

“Star Wars” hasn’t had a movie since 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.” Although he has kept his fan base alive with several series set in his universe, more than one fan is eagerly awaiting his next installment on the big screen.

Daisy Ridley, who brought Rey Skywalker to life, recently gave some details about what we can expect from the “New Jedi Order”, the next episode of the saga in which she will star.

Daisy Ridley Confirms Rey Will Be A Different Jedi Than Luke Skywalker, What Did She Mean?

On March 9, the actress spoke to Den Of Geek about the few details we have about her return to a galaxy far, far away. When asked if Rey “will be a different Jedi or do things differently” than Luke Skywalker, Daisy Ridley simply replied, “I would say, from what I understand, yes.”

While he didn’t want to go into detail about how his character will diverge from Mark Hamill’s, many media outlets have recalled that the Jedi failed in his attempt to restore order when Ben Solo aligned himself with the dark side.

What Daisy Ridley talked about was what she imagines her return to the ‘Star Wars’ set to be like:

“It’s very strange. I’ve gone off and done a lot of different kinds of movies and I feel like I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot, hopefully, as an actor. I think it will feel like baby steps again, like starting over. But yes, I am very excited!”

‘New Jedi Order’: the details we have on the next ‘Star Wars’ film.

Currently, there is little information available about the project. In fact, the title of “New Jedi Order” is barely tentative and has not been confirmed by LucasFilm.

Various rumors suggest that the story will take place 15 years after “The Rise of the Skywalker” and will show Rey at a different stage, as a teacher of a new generation of Jedi instead of an apprentice.

“I think it’s a really fantastic exploration of the Star Wars world. “It’s a really great way to take the story in a slightly different direction,” Daisy Ridley simply said of it on “AlloCiné.”

In an interview with “Deadline,” published March 10, actress Rey revealed that “new characters will be introduced,” though she said she “doesn’t know” what will happen to the previous ones.

What the star told “Collider” is that “the script is being written” for the next “Star Wars” movie.

It is also known that the next episode of the saga will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who has focused her career on documentaries, but was also responsible for some episodes of “Mrs Marvel”.

Release date of the next ‘Star Wars’ movie.

Due to the secrecy of the project, there is no estimated date for its distribution in theaters.

“Deadline” estimates that “New Jedi Order” will be released in 2026, after Jon Favreau’s film starring the Mandalorian and Grogu.
