The duel was close to the end, and Lily Gladstone’s victory at the Screen Actors Guild Awards even suggested that the scales would tip in her favor. But it was Emma Stone who won the Oscar for Best Actress this Sunday, March 10. The second of his career since La La Land gave him in 2017, thanks to a complete performance of Poor Creatures.

In the nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 Oscars, the actress lost to Regina King, who won thanks to If Beale Street Could Talk.

But he undoubtedly found a lucky charm in director Yorgos Lanthimos. And he’ll have a chance to check it out very soon, because they’ve already made another movie together: once titled AND, it will eventually be called Kinds of Kindness.

“Each actor plays a different character in each story”

“We shot it in New Orleans in the fall of 2022.”– Emma Stone told us last December, during her visit to Paris. “It’s a triptych with seven main actors in three separate stories, so everyone’s playing a different character in each story. It’s great.”

“Yorgos co-wrote Philip of Eftimiwith whom he worked a dog, Obster or Killing a Sacred Deer. And it was really cool to finally work on something that Yorgos wrote, because our previous films were written by someone else.”

A reunion with Willem Dafoe

For the occasion, Emma Stone will be reuniting with her two Poor Creatures co-stars Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualey. Jesse Plemons, Hong Chow, Joe Alvin, Mamoudu Atti and Hunter Shaffer will also be surrounded.

Some very beautiful people we hope to see on the steps of the Cannes Film Festival next May. Or in Venice, an event that has already brought luck to Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos, as they presented La Favorite, then poor creatures. Never two without three?
