In terms of casting, David Howard Thornton takes on the role of the sadistic clown, and this terrifying version of the Grinch also stars Lauren LaVera, Chris Jericho, Margaret Ann Florence and Elliot Fullman.
A bigger budget
Still directed by Damien Leone, creator of this B-series horror trilogy, the film has a bigger budget than its predecessors.
The first opus was released in 2016 to general indifference without a theatrical run, while Terrifier 2 – due out in October 2022 – enjoyed buzz after inducing discomfort and vomiting.
The specialized press quickly spread this information, and the film became a “rite of passage” for fans of horror cinema. On a $250,000 budget, Terrifier 2 grossed $15 million worldwide.
A third opus was announced very quickly, with a bigger budget. Producer Priscilla Smith of The Coven explained when the third opus was announced:
“The budget will be much bigger to give the director more creative freedom and be as wild as possible. All kidding aside, we’re going to the Oscars this year.”
You haven’t seen anything yet.
Damien Leone specified: “Terrifier 3 will push the boundaries of the horror genre and continue the no-nonsense, no-nonsense exploits that fans of the franchise have come to expect and enjoy. If you thought Arty the Clown’s reign of terror in Part 2 was extreme, you ain’t seen nothing yet.”.
Horror 3 It will be released in our cinemas on October 30, and judging by the first images, the feature film – like the previous one – should be restricted to under 16s.
