“So there’s a discovery!” : What if Netflix’s new can’t-miss nugget, this Spanish thriller starring La Casa de Papel?

A few days ago we talked to you about Netflix’s new Spanish thriller, With an Iron Fist. A mix of De Grace and Narcos that takes us to the heart of Barcelona’s seaport, which receives almost 6,000 containers a day.

A winning mix

Goods from all over the world, among which more than 30 tons of cocaine can be hidden in just one year, making the Spanish city one of the most important entry points for drug trafficking in Europe. Joaquin Manchado, the owner of the main port terminal, knows this well. An unexpected accident and the disappearance of a large shipment of cocaine will lead to a merciless war, faced with murders and revenge.

The Iron Hand has everything to appeal to French subscribers: a dark and sticky atmosphere, a family drama, an effective plot that sees a policeman penetrate the heart of the docks to break up the thriving traffic… Eduard Fernandez (The Curved Lines de Dieu), Jaime Llorente (La Casa de Papel ) and Chino Darin (The Mirage) are the main headliners, and they’re running a series between them.

What do Iron Hand subscribers think?

Currently in its fourth top series, Iron Fist is making rapid progress and could be on its way to the top. Especially since some of the comments on his AlloCiné page really make you want to:

“Hmm, this thread reminds me a lot of the Arte series: DE GRACE; But instead of the port of Le Havre, this time it’s Barcelona. And also the story revolves around a family which then falls apart. But DE GRACE was more focused on family drama than a straightforward thriller with a well-worn undercover cop theme. (Philip G.)

“I devoured 8 episodes in one weekend! A very good series about the drug world at the gateway to the Mediterranean. The action takes place mainly in the port of Barcelona and its surroundings. I recommend you have a good time.” (Jeanguillaume473)

“Pleasantly surprised by this Spanish detective series set against the background of the drug trade in the port of Barcelona. Impeccable casting and careful production make this series a cinematic gem. Rhythm, suspense, tension and family discord underline this series, which goes by very quickly. 8 Addictive Episodes You Shouldn’t Miss!” (chillout and rest)

“So there’s a discovery! Settings (Barcelona port) that looks like one of the main actors, a well-crafted plot, excellent staging, with rhythmic sections that follow each other very consistently, very nervously. Lots of characters, well built. All the actors do their jobs well, although there are always, or almost always, secondary roles that are substandard and weaken the plot. No. Excellent work of screenwriters, directors, excellent direction of actors. We want more!” (Francesco 31)

Iron Fist, 8 one-hour episodes to watch on Netflix.
