Bambi, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, Tigger, Piglet and Winnie the Pooh, Pinocchio, but also the Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty… all these characters from the Disney classics will soon have the right to a horror movie.
Production companies Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios announce a new cinematic universe titled: “The twisted world of childhood“, in which our childhood heroes will turn into bloodthirsty monsters.
So after Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, released in 2023, get ready: Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Pinocchio Unstrung. After getting their own movie, all of these heroes find themselves in the 2025 Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a horror version of Disney’s Avengers.
The characters are in the public domain
In this opus, Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, Peter Pan and Pinocchio are joined by Sleeping Beauty, the Mad Hatter and Coco the Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh. All of these characters have actually recently entered the public domain. The Walt Disney Studios, which previously owned the rights, are no longer the only ones able to integrate these characters into their stories.
After transforming the calm Winnie the Pooh into a sadistic killer, Jagged Films continues the momentum. Rated 1.1 out of 5 stars by AlloCiné Internet users and Razzie winner for Worst Picture of the Year, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Still, it was a huge success, costing only $100,000 and grossing nearly $5 million internationally. The second opus, still directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, was quickly announced, and so the recipe will be applied to other Disney characters.

The first poster for the Poohniverse, slated for 2025, has also been revealed. We see anti-heroes with a very different look from the original characters. The most observant will notice that the title font is the same as The Avengers.
Avengers of horrors
The film will be directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, and will see Scott Chambers return as Christopher Robin, Megan Plactio as Wendy Darling, Roxanne McKee as Xana, and Lewis Santer as Tigger.
During the announcement, the director and producer said:It will be a real massacre. We are heavily influenced by Freddy vs. Jason and The Avengers. We want to see a horror movie where the bad guys get together and hunt down the survivors. We have an incredible set and sequence in mind that I think will really shock people. The films we are currently working on separately are all built on Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.”
After the universes of Marvel and DC, here’s the Twisted Universe of your childhood movies!
