More tiresome than a ring and a grudge! The sequel to this successful film is reaching a milestone

A 2022 surprise hit with $217 million at the international box office on a $17 million budget, the horror film brings a smile to the face of Rose, a psychiatrist whose life turns into a nightmare after witnessing a traumatic incident with one of her patients. Possessed by a mysterious force, Rose must confront her past in order to survive.

Originally intended for the streaming market, initial responses to the film, directed by Saucy Bacon, Jesse T. Usher and Kyle Gallner, were so good that the studio decided to release the film in theaters. After the success of the feature film, a sequel was announced.

Smile 2 is still directed by Parker Finn, with Kyle Gallner reprising his role, Naomi Scott (Aladdin, Charlie’s Angels), Lucas Gage (Euphoria, White Lotus) and Rosemary Devitt.

Filming on the feature film wrapped up last month and is slated to hit theaters on October 16. And Smile 2 promises to be even more challenging than the first film, if the actor is to be believed Lucas Gage.

“The whole team was scared”

During the full promotion of Road House scheduled for March 21 on Prime Video, the actor confided during the show The Jess Cagle Show from Sirius XM Gets sick of smiling off camera after shooting a scary scene from 2.

At the premiere of Doug Liman’s film, Lucas Gage returned to the microphone for his comments. The Hollywood Reporter and specifies: “I did not vomit, I lay down. I was really shocked by the intensity of that day. We just think, “Oh, it’s a game, everything will be fine,” but this movie is so scary. The whole team was scared. That smile is creepy enough on its own, and when you add in the bloody scenes, I…yeah, I have a weak stomach too. I am a chicken.

Horror on a higher level

Smile 2 Therefore, it promises to be even more difficult than the previous opus. We still don’t know what the story will be, but it should be a direct sequel to the first opus since then Kyle Gallner appears in the casting.

According to Lucas Gage: “If you liked the first movie, you’ll love this one. This is so terrifying. I was on the set for the first time, where I was very scared and even my stomach hurt. Parker Finn will take the film to a new level.”

Smile 2 hits theaters on October 16, in time for Halloween.
