Waze carries out promotional actions for the film “Ghostbusters: Apocalypse of Ice”

Anyone who has never changed their Waze voice should cast the first stone. I’m guilty – and more than once. Ok, I’ll admit it didn’t last long and I got irritated pretty quickly. But you can’t say it wasn’t fun.

The tracking app just launched a new browser option inspired by Ghostbusters. The idea is to promote the new feature film of the franchise, Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypsewhich will be released in Brazilian cinemas on April 11th.

The voice available is that of the character Ray Stantz, played by Dan Aykroyd – from the original team. He will say things like:

“During this trip I will give verbal instructions. Ignore any clairvoyance or telepathic communication. That’s not me. He is a mischievous spirit”.

The only problem is that it’s all in English, but it’s worth it for the nostalgia, especially for fans.

Waze also offers other special options, like changing your car icon to the Ecto-1, the team’s classic vehicle, as well as new mood choices, which is how other drivers see you. The new icons are: “Mischievous”, “Characteristic”, “Naughty” and “Impatient”.

To try it out for yourself, access the app menu in those three bars in the top left corner. On the next screen there will be the Ghostbusters option, at the bottom.

Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypse It is the fifth film in the series and focuses on mixing generations.

The original team is back, with Dan Akroid, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray, but you’ll also see the stars of the recent ones again Ghostbusters – Beyond (2021), including Paul Rudd (Ant man) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger things).

According to the official synopsis, the sequence will show a new threat, which must arise from an ancient artifact, putting the world at risk of a second ice age.

For Ghostbusters fans, the production returns to where it all began: the New York firehouse featured in the 1984 original.
