38 years (yes, already…) from its sensational debut, Aliens, the second film in the franchise orchestrated by James Cameron, will hit the shelves on April 24th in UHD. Although Cameron took a completely different direction with this sequel to Ridley Scott’s seminal film, Aliens was a fantastic film, enhanced by the know-how and direction of the Terminator creator, who had more than his share of heroics, iconic characters and punchlines (Vazquez!).
For reference, Ripley was rescued by the Weyland-Yutan Corporation after 57 years in space in his capsule. Despite his report on the incident on the Nostromo, he was not taken seriously by the military when he discovered the presence of xenomorphs on the planet LV-426, where his crew had landed.
A planet where several settler families were sent on a “terraforming” mission. It is there that brave little Newt discovers the colonists being massacred by the Xenomorphs.
Ripley and the rest of the Marines have no choice but to rely on Newt’s knowledge and wits to find a way to escape. Even though her daughter died years ago, Ripley is especially protective of Newt, the real surrogate mother.
Newt’s character unfortunately dies early in Alien 3, leaving Ripley as the sole survivor. The first and last appearance of the character, which was also Carrie Haney’s only role. What happened to him after that?
“Sigourney Weaver was more than a friend to me”
Carrie Hahn got the role of Newt at the age of 9. At the time, the girl from Panama, Florida, was living in Britain, where her father, a member of the US Air Force, was stationed. During a visit to her school’s cafeteria, a film casting crew spots her and asks her to audition.
“I was very excited” Carrie Hahn said on the mic WiredIn 2016, then came the film’s 30th anniversary at San Diego Comic-Con. “I had seen it Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters and I thought that was really cool! We immediately hugged. During filming, he took me under his wing because I had no experience.
“He was more than a friend to me”– Haney confided and remembered that after so many years he was still in contact with Sigourney Weaver. “What you see in the movie is how we felt about each other.”
Harmful calls
The transition from a quiet, ordinary life to the Hollywood spotlight, however brief, was difficult for Carrie Hahn. After filming, he moved to America with his family, he had a hard time adjusting to his new life.
in the interview AvPGalaxy website Published in 2019, Hen said that he “I wanted to be a normal kid… It’s a little different from England, so I wanted to get into American life and make friends.”
He was even the object of real hostility towards her, as his mother recalled in an interview peopleIn 2001: “People were calling and leaving messages saying, ‘He should never have gotten this role.’
Nevertheless, Carrie Hahn very quickly abandoned the idea of continuing the career of an actress. His experience on Cameron’s film did not dissuade him from wanting to teach. He trains at the University of California, located in Stanislaus County.

Carrie Haney in 2016.
“A lot of people found it difficult to understand that acting was not my passion. It was not my dream. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it an incredible experience? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Of course. But it wasn’t my passion, it was teaching.” He will say in 2016.
Signing sessions
Now living in California, the mother of two girls, Carrie Haney teaches elementary school. Always proud of his unique Hollywood experience, he often autographs a DVD of a film brought in by one of his students and even attends fan conventions.
he still enjoys As he said in 2016. “Sometimes kids come up to me with copies of the DVD and say, ‘My dad’s a big fan, this is the only parent-teacher conference my dad’s ever been to, and it’s his birthday,’ and they hand out the DVD. Then I say, ‘Do you want me to sign it?'” Yeah… are you going to reprimand me?
An additional question remains. Was he disillusioned with the disastrous fate that was reserved for his character in the beginningAlien 3 ? Not really, judging by the trust he has gathered Digital spy. “At this stage I had already decided that I wanted to be a teacher, so I wasn’t going to go into this profession as an adult, if I was asked, I probably would, who wouldn’t?” I wasn’t devastated.”
