Will ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ get new seasons? Frankie Muniz reveals plans for the series

“Malcolm in the Middle” ended in 2006. But the 18 years since its end doesn’t seem to have affected its fan base, who to this day fondly remember some of its most iconic scenes and dialogue and ask the The Adventures of Chaotic Family Homecoming. That possibility would be closer than ever, according to what Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston said.

‘Malcolm in the Middle’ would be rebooting very soon, Frankie Muniz says

The actor who played Malcolm in the hit sitcom has fueled rumors of a possible return to the show. And, in a recent interview with “Pedestrian.TV,” he hinted that a new season of “Malcolm in the Middle” “is the closest it’s ever been to reality.”

Without revealing much, Muniz stated: “It’s the closest thing to being real. I can say that. “If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen soon.”

Although the now 38-year-old interpreter did not want to reveal specific details, he said that “if it is to be done, it will be done soon.” However, the actor also mentioned that he has been talking about a possible return for eight years, so the possibility is still up in the air.

The truth is that this is not the first time that Frankie Muniz has hinted at a possible return of “Malcolm in the Middle”. In December 2023, he stated in an interview with Mayim Bialik that he “would love to know where Malcolm and his family are now.”

Bryan Cranston’s Hal also wants “Malcolm in the Middle” to return.

Everything points to the mastermind behind a possible return of the series being the one who played Malcolm’s father.

In the aforementioned interview with Mayim Bialik, Frankie Muniz revealed that Bryan Cranston and two other screenwriters were “working on a script and thinking about what it could be,” though actor Hal is the one “directing it, driving it. .”

Cranston himself has spoken many times about the possibility of “Malcolm in the Middle” returning. In June 2023, for example, he said in an interview with “GQ” that “he doesn’t know if it’s going to be a season (or a movie), but we’re talking.” Beyond the form, “it should be something substantial, important”, he added.

He also assured that “everyone would like to go back and explore what these characters are doing 20 years from now.”
