Brazil and Argentina draw the Tango Blind Football Cup

Brazil and Argentina drew 0-0 in the opening match of the Tango Blind Football Cup. The two teams will face each other again this Thursday (4). The next tie between Brazil and Argentina in the Tango Cup of football for the blind appeared for the first time at the Olimpíada Todo Dia.

The Brazilian football team for the blind debuted this Wednesday afternoon (3) at the Copa Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Brazilian team played an Under 23 team and faced a “B” team from the home team. The match then ended in a 0-0 draw.

The competition will also bring together an ‘A’ team and another Under 23 team from the hosts. Everyone plays against each other and the two best-placed teams will advance to the final on Saturday at 11am. Brazil’s adult team, however, remains focused on João Pessoa (PB) in preparation for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

In this way, the Tango Cup will serve as an experience for the young blind Brazilian football team. In turn, the tournament will showcase Argentina’s new technical committee, which replaced coach Claudio Falco, the current world and Copa América champion. The replacement is Ariel Figueroa, who managed the youth team and won the silver medal with it at the Parapan American Youth Games in Bogota last year.

It is worth mentioning that Brazil is the current champion of the tournament, which was last played in 2022. Furthermore, the Brazilian team also became champions in 2019.
