
Theaters highlight the premiere of “Minions 2 – The Rise of Gru”, which hits screens after several delays. The animation was originally scheduled for July 2020 and its release after two years also closes the list of productions that have been delayed by the pandemic.
Surrounded by expectations for the success of the franchise’s previous films – the first “Minions” and three “Despicable Me”, the Universal production has its biggest distribution this Thursday (30/6) and will become the main option for kids in shopping malls. . after the difficulty faced by “Lightyear” to score.

| MINIONS 2 – THE ORIGIN OF THE CRANE |
The sequel to “Minions” tells the beginning of the saga of Gru, who from childhood dreamed of joining a team of supervillains. When mocked, he decides to prove himself a criminal by robbing the bad guys himself, which starts a chase and introduces the clumsy help of the minions.
The director is Kyle Balda, who has signed the last two films in the franchise (“Minions” and “Despicable Me 3”), and Brad Ableson (animator of “The Simpsons”), who makes his debut at the Illumination studio. But even giving up his place behind the camera, director Pierre Coffin continues to make the macaroni voices of the Minions.
By the way, Gru’s national voice actor is none other than Leandro Hassum, while Steve Carell (“The Office”) continues to dub the original version.

The new detective thriller with Lázaro Ramos (“The Silence of the Rain”) explores the so-called “Rashômon effect” (version conflicts). Ramos plays a police officer investigating the murder of a politician (ZéCarlos Machado), a candidate for mayor of a rural town, who is found run over in an isolated region. But each suspect has a different version of who killed him, why he died and how the murder happened.
The cast highlights Bianca Bin (“The Other Side of Paradise”), Drica Moraes (“Under Pressure”) and Thomás Aquino (“Corral”) as suspects, as well as Edvana Carvalho (“Irmãos Freitas”).
The screenplay is by Pedro Furtado (“Good Luck”) and the direction is signed by José Eduardo Belmonte (“Alemão 2”), one of the greatest Brazilian specialists in criminal films.

Winner of the latest Gramado festival, Renata Pinheiro’s film combines fantasy and realism to tell the story of Uno (newcomer Luciano Pedro Jr), named after the car he was born in, on his way to motherhood. The car is considered the young man’s best friend, and when a new law prohibits the circulation of old cars, Uno seeks a solution with his uncle, a mechanic with crazy ideas, played by Matheus Nachtergaele (“Thirty”). Together, the two transform the old car into a new car, the King Car, so advanced that it interacts with humans, communicates and displays feelings, as well as making their own plans.
In addition to winning Kikito for Best Film, “Carro Rei” was also awarded in Gramado with the statuettes of Best Soundtrack (DJ Dolores), Best Production Design (Karen Araujo) and Best Sound Design (Guile Martins), as well as delivering a Special Jury Prize to Matheus Nachtergaele.

The psychological thriller follows a group of German immigrants who live in isolation in a house in the Rio Grande do Sul countryside during World War II. Forbidden to speak in their native language, they try to be invisible, but paranoia weakens them, hunger torments them and lice force a collective, brutal and indiscriminate haircut between men and women. The desperate atmosphere leads two young twins to imagine life away from that place, whose atmosphere recalls the horror stories of the forest, such as “A Vila” and “A Bruxa”.
Directed by Gilson Vargas (“Dromedário no Asfalto”) and the beautiful photography was awarded at the Gramado Festival.
