Two of CBS’ flagship series have confirmed new seasons. “NCIS” and “The Neighborhood” have been renewed for another year, the network confirmed earlier this week. Both shows air on Mondays in the US. The information comes from Variety.
“’The Neighborhood’ and ‘NCIS’ are the perfect definition of CBS comedy and drama. They materialize authentic narratives with heart, humor and family dynamics. We are proud to bring it back for new seasons,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS.
The renewal will bring “NCIS” to its 22nd season, while “The Neighborhood” will return for its seventh season.
The prequel series “NCIS” is also in the network’s plans
One of the highest-rated productions on CBS’ schedule, “NCIS” still averaged 12.9 million viewers multiplatform, even at the end of its run. The program is an example of how an old television franchise continues to pay off for CBS and its owner, Paramount.
CBS also currently airs the spinoff “NCIS: Hawaii,” while “NCIS: Sydney” airs on the network and streams on Paramount+.
“Il Vicinato” also enjoys excellent ratings, which justifies its renewal. The production averaged 7.9 million viewers multiplatform in its sixth season on CBS.
