Ripple on Netflix: Will a second season see the light of day?

As we write this, Ripley’s series is steadily climbing the Netflix rankings. Good news for this ambitious project, shot entirely in black and white and stunningly beautiful.

This eight-episode fictional adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s acclaimed novel, Mr. RipleyIt has already been transferred to the cinema in Plein Soleil with Alain Delon and The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damon.

Other seasons to come?

In the shoes of the manipulator and con man we find Andrew Scott, more menacing than ever. Without giving too much away, the end of the series leaves many doors open for Thomas Ripley’s adventures to continue.

In fact, there are five novels, all written by the author – Ripley and the Shadows, Ripley is amused, In Ripley’s Footsteps and Ripple between two waters.

Does this mean a season 2 of the Netflix series will see the light of day? Nothing is less certain, at least until a new declaration from creator Steven Zailian. for the media TheWrapIt shows that anything is possible:

“We bought the rights to all the books, so we can do that. I’m going to need a bit of a break, but this is an interesting enough character to continue.”

What is Ripley’s sequel about?

Nothing has been confirmed from Netflix at this time. The streaming platform is still waiting for the first figures to gauge enthusiasm. If a season 2 of Ripley is announced, it won’t be out for a long time. Filming of the first season took place throughout the year.

In the sequel, which takes place six years after the events of this story, Thomas Ripley settles in the south of France. He marries an heiress and finds himself involved in an art scam. The rest of the plot, which we won’t reveal here, is even darker and crazier than the first part.
