Xperia 1 VI announced dimensions with a wider and smaller body than its predecessor, indicating changes in the appearance of the screen
A Sony is expected to present in the coming months the next generation of smartphones for some selected countries where the brand still operates, and more details regarding the design and dimensions of the Xperia1 VI, the manufacturer’s most powerful model for this year, has just appeared.

Images provided by the AndroidHeadline website detail that the Xperia 1 VI will be essentially identical to the Xperia 1V last year.
With this we see that the device will keep the triple camera set with main, ultrawide and periscope lenses with all elements in the exact position, including LED flash, microphone and ZEISS writing.
One difference compared to the previous model is its screen. Although the 6.5-inch size will have to be retained, the new model will be smaller in height, with a wider and thicker body.



The Xperia 1 VI is said to have dimensions of 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm (height, width and thickness). For comparison, the Xperia 1 V measures 165 x 71 x 8.3 mm, resulting in a taller and narrower smartphone.
The change would focus on presenting a screen with an aspect close to the 19.5:9 aspect adopted on smartphones such as Galaxy S24Ultra AND iPhone 15 Proabandoning the 21:9 aspect previously highly appreciated by the manufacturer.
Other rumors indicate that the Xperia 1 VI will launch with a lower resolution panel, going from 4K to 2K, with the exact cameras of the Xperia 1 V and the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm.
We don’t know if Sony should abandon it too “Anti-AI” cameras in the name of authenticity photography or whether it will once and for all embrace the use of artificial intelligence to alter images.
The Xperia 1 VI is expected to be announced in the coming weeks alongside its mid-range option, the Xperia 5Vand more details about the devices should emerge soon.
