The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) released this Monday afternoon (15th) the first list of those called up by Bernardinho for the men’s team. With the players having already finished the club’s season, 12 names have been called up, including Douglas Souza, returning after two years without wearing the yellow shirt. Also called to training are the setter Gustavo Cardoso (Farma Conde São José) and the pointer Maicon (Araguari).

The next lists should include the players who play abroad and those who will play in the Superliga final, as soon as their commitments with the club end. In addition to Douglas, the call-ups of fellow point guards Paulo and Daniel Muniz stand out. The duo has been a point of reference for their respective clubs for a few seasons now.

The men’s team competes in the Nations League (VNL) ahead of Paris 2024 in preparation for the Olympics. The first match for Bernardinho’s men in the VNL is in Rio de Janeiro, against Cuba, on May 21st. In the same phase, Brazil will face Argentina, Serbia and Italy in sequence.
