The second feature by the director of Corpo Elétrico, from 2017, will be at Critics’ Week, which brings together productions by directors with one or two films on their CV
Babysecond feature film Marcelo Caetanodirector of Electric Bodyfrom 2017, was selected for the 63rd Critics’ Week at the next edition of the Cannes Film Festival, which takes place between May 14th and 25th.
Organized by the French Union of Film Critics, the parallel exhibition brings together seven films by first and second feature directors, chosen from more than a thousand entries. On your social networks, Caetano celebrated the achievement: “It’s Cannes, Baby!”he wrote.
“There is no better place for this birth! Thank you to the entire crew and cast who made this film possible! I love you!”added the filmmaker.

In Babyshortly after being released from a youth detention center, Wellington (João Pedro Mariano) finds himself drifting through the streets of São Paulo. During a visit to a porn cinema, he meets the prostitute Ronaldo (Ricardo Teodoro), with whom he begins to live a relationship full of conflicts, between exploitation and protection, jealousy and complicity. The film does not yet have a release date in Brazilian cinemas.
