Arsenal defeats Wolves and regains the lead in the Premier League

Arsenal have shown effectiveness by winning away from home and are top of the English table

This Saturday (20th), Arsenal defeated Wolverhampton 2-0 at Molinex Stadium. The goals of the match came thanks to Trossard and Odegaard. Now the Gunners have 74 points, one more than Manchester City and are back at the top of the Premier League.

Wolves’ next match will be Bournemouth, at home. Arsenal play a classic against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

FIRST TIME

In the title race, Arsenal showed their attacking posture from the first minutes and put pressure on Wolverhapton. Despite the volume of play, the finish was out of date.

The goal only came close to half-time. Gabriel Jesus fought with the defender and passed to Trossard, who headed in a beautiful shot into the corner.

SECOND TIME

In the final phase, Wolverhampton launched an attack and tried to apply pressure. However, the home team lacked quality when it came to creation. The only way to create danger was through crosses into the penalty area.

Aware of the result in their favour, Arsenal conceded little space and tried to exploit the counterattack to their advantage. In the final minutes, with the lead, Mikel Arteta’s team doubled their lead. Odegaard received it from Havertz and had to shoot twice to score the goal.
