Revival of popularity
Fallout 4 saw the biggest increase, going from weekend peaks of 20,000 to 24,000 over the past six months to 83,491 last week. Fallout 76 also saw its numbers skyrocket, jumping from 13,000 players to 39,455 on Sunday, breaking its all-time concurrent player record.
As for Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, they also saw their numbers triple. Bethesda, the game publisher, smartly relaunched the sale of its Fallout games with the arrival of the series, which also led to a huge increase in sales of the franchise’s titles.
Bethesda also recently announced that it will release a next-gen update for Fallout 4 on April 25, which will include 60fps performance modes on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, as well as additional improvements. New quests will also be added.
Meanwhile, the series is expected to continue for a second season, and production will move from New York and Utah to California thanks to a very favorable tax credit.
The first season of Fallout is currently available on Prime Video.
