How I don’t like TikTok
You can unlike TikTok by marking the “Not Interested” flag on the social network’s videos. To perform this action, follow these steps:
- Go to the “For You” tab on TikTok;
- Tap and hold the video to view the options menu;
- Choose “Not Interested”.
The platform displays a message that you will see less similar content in your feed. This message also displays a detail button that allows you to communicate the reasons for your disinterest in the publication.
Within the details, you can request to see fewer user posts or related hashtags, and you can also tag the content like:
- Repetitive;
- Promotional;
- Expropriated;
- Misleading.
It’s also worth noting that if you accidentally like a post, you can remove the like by tapping the heart icon again. This option is similar to other social networks, but is not the same as marking a post as “not interested.”
How to customize your TikTok
TikTok’s algorithm considers your interactions and the videos you watch to recommend content and improve the user experience. Likes, comments and followed accounts help the platform define your profile and select materials you might like.
The better you personalize this experience and mark your favorite videos and those you’re “not interested in,” the better the social network will curate suggestions for you.
