With a goal from Bellingham in injury time, Real Madrid beat Barcelona and won the La Liga title

Vini Jr also stood out with a goal and an assist

In a match worthy of “El Clásico”, Real Madrid overcame Barcelona in injury time, winning 3-2 and winning the current season’s Spanish championship. This is because the gap between the rivals is 11 points (81 to 70), with only six games left in the competition (18 points up for grabs).

Real Madrid’s goals were scored by Vini Jr, Lucas Vázquez and Bellingham, at the end of the match; on Barça’s side, Christensen and Fermín López scored.

⚽ HOW DID THE MATCH GO?

Six minutes of play were enough for Barcelona to open the scoring against their biggest rival: after a cross coming from the right, Christensen took advantage of goalkeeper Lumin’s mistake, who missed the ball, to head home the ball.

Trailing on the scoreboard, Real Madrid tried to react quickly, but failed to assert themselves as they expected. This is because balance was the hallmark of the classic, even if Barcelona failed to impose their style of ball possession.

In the 18th minute, the match referee whistled a penalty after an individual challenge by Lucas Vázquez (Watch the video below). Vini Jr. took the penalty and tied the match for Real Madrid. The result lasted until half-time, when Xavi decided to change teams for the second half.

The Spaniard decided to remove the marker from the field and insert Fermín López, with the intention of better controlling ball possession. The change took effect and the Catalan team began to exchange passes more easily, according to their own style.

In the 24th minute of the second half, Lamine Yamal shoots from outside the area and Lumin clears. With the rebound, Fermín López puts Barça back in the lead. But there wasn’t even time to celebrate: four minutes later, Lucas Vázquez tied the game again, completing a low, millimeter cross from Vini Jr, coming from the left of the pitch.

When everything pointed to a draw between the rivals, already in injury time, Bellingham seemed to decide another match and lead the victory of the Liga in favor of the merengues: with a gesture similar to the previous goal, Lucas Vázquez reversed the roles and crossed low towards the second stick, where the English midfielder arrived to shoot the Barcelona goal.
