My Little Reindeer on Netflix: Subscribers Try to Find Series Attacker, Creator Responds

Richard Gad reveals a slice of his life in his My Little Reindeer series, in which he writes, directs and stars. In particular, he recalls his difficult beginnings as a comedian, the harassment he suffered from a woman for several years, and the rape committed by his mentor, Darien, when he was trying to launch his career.

People were accused unfairly

This latest traumatic event is told in episode 4 of the Netflix hit, which is the most trying to watch. The author depicts the sexual violence of which he was a victim with disturbing realism. The impressive success of the series – My Little Deer takes first place in the rating – attracts many curious people who look into the personal life of the creator.

Hundreds of fans on social media started an investigation to find out the real Martha and the identity of the man who attacked Richard Gad. Although the series draws a line and does not reveal the identity of the two individuals, netizens are speculating.

Some have even found personal records of the “real” Martha, revealing her name so that she is indeed a real person. As for the attacker, one close associate named Sean Foley was unfairly implicated, prompting author Richard Gad to come forward.

The Creator is speaking

In a story posted on his official Instagram account, he wrote:Hello everyone, it’s unfair to single out people I’ve worked with and admired – including Sean Foley. Please don’t think about who the real people are. This is in no way the point of our series.“

As for the rape scene, the creator hopes that the victim will feel less ashamed after this series. In a video posted by Netflix, he says:I hope that they will be encouraged to accept this trauma in their lives and deal with it without seeing it as a change in their personality. I hope it brings peace. I think it would help me.”
