‘Journey to paradise’: Julia Roberts and George Clooney, willing to save the “rom-com”

        It’s been a long wait, but We finally have a trailer for ‘Journey to Paradise’, the new work by George Clooney and Julia Roberts, in which they work together again, and are back together, but not mixed up. At least at the beginning of the movie.

        We had already seen footage of the filming of the two movie stars, but we can finally have an official preview. In this new reunion on the big screen, heThe couple brings to life two exes who have no choice but to join forces to prevent their daughter frommadly in love with her partner, make the same mistake as them.

        ‘Journey to Paradise’, whose original title is ‘Ticket to Paradise’, is produced by Working Title, Smokehouse Pictures and Red One Films, and is a romantic comedy about the sweet surprises that second chances can offer.

        Many are waiting for the reunion between the two actors, two of the great stars of Hollywood. Two decades ago we saw them as a former couple in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’. Clooney long ago remembered how he convinced Julia to become part of what was later a successful saga. That was the beginning of a great friendship that has continued to endure over time. Then they shared the screen again, although without being a couple in ‘Money Monster’, a film for which they went through the Cannes festival.

        Now, at a time when it seems that the romantic comedy genre has been relegated to platforms, this film aims to revive the genre and bring it back to theaters. Who better than these two for such a cause?

        Directed by Ol Parker (‘Mamma Mia! Over and Over’ and screenwriter of the two installments of ‘The Exotic Marigold Hotel’) from a script he co-wrote with Daniel Pipski, JOURNEY TO PARADISE It is produced by Working Title’s Tim Bevan (‘Darkest Hour’, ‘The Danish Girl’) and Eric Fellner (‘The Theory of Everything’, ‘Les Miserables’); Sarah Harvey (The exotic Marigold Hotel, co-producer of Hide and Seek in Bruges), Deborah Balderstone (‘Palm Beach, ‘Gone’), George Clooney and Oscar winner Grant Heslov (‘Argo’, ‘Midnight Sky’ ), from Smokehouse Pictures, as well as Julia Roberts, Lisa Roberts Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill (the latter two co-executive producers of the “Homecoming” series), from Red Om Films.

        The new romantic comedy has been shot in Queensland, Australia, with the help of incentives provided by the Australian federal government and the state of Queensland’s “Strategy for Production” programme.

        ‘Journey to Paradise’ will hit theaters in Spain on September 16.
