Electric cars are on the rise, but one question still hangs in the air: where to find stations to charge vehicles? Where are these power stations?

Analysis of Brazil’s regions reveals a significant disparity in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, with the South and Southeast accounting for half of the available spots.

Sao Paulo stands out in this scenario, hosting 1/3 of all charging stations in the country, highlighting its dominant economic position. This discrepancy is even more evident when compared to Rio Grande do Sul, second place in the list of the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles (ABVE), which has only 1/3 of the number of charging stations of São Paulo.

The top six places in the ranking are found in these two regions, which together hold more than half of all charging points in the country.

This uneven distribution highlights the need for a more equitable expansion of charging infrastructure to promote EV adoption across the country.
