After The Invisible Life, the actress starred alongside Josh O’Connor, from The Crown, in a film that competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival
La Chimerafeature film starring Josh O’Connor (The Crown) and the Brazilian Carol Duarte (The Invisible Life), which competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Festival in 2023 and won the Audience Award for Best Foreign Fiction Film at the 47th São Paulo International Film Festival, arrives in Brazilian cinemas starting this Thursday, the 25th of April.
In the story, which takes place in Tuscany, Italy, in the 1980s, Arthur (O’Connor) is an archaeologist, who makes a living as a grave robber, stealing relics and selling them on the art market.
After losing the woman he loved, he spends some time apart, but soon returns to his criminal life and, along the way, meets Italy (Duarte), a Brazilian immigrant, who touches your heart. Watch the trailer for La Chimera:
