A NordVPN, a cybersecurity company, has completed the full phase of network development and expanded operations. With over 6,200 servers and access to 111 countries, it currently has the widest geographic coverage of all VPN providers.
This growth has been made possible through the introduction of a new set of virtual servers that adhere to the highest cybersecurity and privacy standards. The new feature also adds innovation to the brand, which previously only used physical VPN servers.
Additionally, the organization has increased the number of simultaneous connections, allowing users to secure up to ten devices with one Nord account and further improve privacy. Previously, the company had authorized six connected devices.
“We have started to look at using virtual servers to provide users with access to locations where the ability to install high-quality physical servers is poor, generally due to limited infrastructure. In these cases, virtual systems are the ideal solution, providing speed and connection quality equal to those of physical machines,” says Marijus Briedis, CTO of NordVPN.
Virtual systems operate through dedicated physical servers located outside the destination country. These are configured to resolve to an IP address that corresponds to the IP of a different country than the one in which they are actually allocated. In January 2024, NordVPN launched its first virtual server in India, with the dedicated physical server in Singapore.
According to the company, the new virtual VPN server locations have been carefully selected around the world due to the growing demands and needs of NordVPN customers.
