It’s news that should please thrill-seekers with a penchant for Satanic stories. Variety tells us today that Paramount+ has just announced that a prequel to the cult film Rosemary’s Baby , titled Apartment 7A , starring Julia Garner and directed by Natalie Erica James, will stream exclusively on the platform ahead of the Halloween season.

This Roman Polanski horror classic was produced by Paramount in 1968. It stars Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes as a young couple trying to start a family, but are haunted by strange neighbors after moving into an old building that their friend believes to be a haunted house.

According to the official synopsis, Apartment 7A takes place in New York in 1965 and therefore tells the story of “The story takes place before Rosemary’s baby, exploring what happened in the apartment before Rosemary and her husband moved in.

When a young dancer suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn to dark forces when a strange, well-connected elderly couple promises her a chance at stardom.

Commissioned by Paramount+, the film features a solid cast including Dianne Wiest (Mayor of Kingstown), Jim Sturgess (Around the World) and Kevin McNally (Josham Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean films).
