It’s almost a family affair. Apple TV+ has just released the first photos from The Instigators, the heist movie co-written by Casey Affleck and directed by Doug Liman. The first involves his lifelong friend Matt Damon, who in this case is reunited with the man who guided him 20 years ago, in the skin of memory.
First, check out Doug Liman’s The Instigators, starring Matt Damon, Casey Affleck and Hong Chow.
The heist thriller follows a father who teams up with an ex-con to rob a corrupt politician of his ill-gotten gains.

“Between Midnight Run and Butch Cassidy and the Kid”
The Instigators, presented by Affleck as a cross between Midnight Run and Butch Cassidy and the Kid, is what we call friend movie. The two actors play two thieves who go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a heist goes wrong.
This action comedy, set entirely in Boston, also features an attractive cast, as Ben’s brother explains in an interview:
“This is a story about two strangers who are hired to commit a robbery. They go from enemies to friends, while Jack Harlow their mouth that Paul Walter Hauser offend them that Ving Rhames keeps track of them and Hong Chau (who plays the role of a psychologist) is trying to keep them alive.” One of the photos shows the trio fleeing in a car (The rest can be seen here).
The Instigators promises to be a funny and terrifying action movie that Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to discover starting August 9. It’s not director Doug Liman’s first collaboration with the streaming platform since he partnered with Amazon Prime on the remake of Road House, which came close to breaking audience records.
Will there be success this time? Answer this summer.
