Rodrigo Dunshee, general and legal vice-president of Flamengo, celebrated the outcome of the trial on Gabigol’s suspensive effect at the CAS. The director praised the 3-0 in favor of the defense’s request, explaining that it is proof that we are on the right path.
“We received with great satisfaction and joy the result of the judgment on the effect of Gabriel’s suspension, there at the CAS, 3-0. This decision recognized that Gabriel’s chances of success are reasonable and, therefore, it would not be fair to him remain a year without being able to practice his profession while this appeal is heard. The decision does not go into detail about the chances of success, but it is an encouraging start,” said Rodrigo Dunshee.
“We are pleased that the decision to use the CAS was a good one. Since Gabriel is an international athlete, he can be judged in the first instance by the Plenary Court here in Brazil, and in the second instance by the CAS in Switzerland. We made the choice to use this advantage for the international athlete that is Gabriel, because we understood that it would have been a guarantee of a less emotional test, let’s say, abroad. So, we are on the right path, with great happiness and we will be able to count on him very much Let’s move forward,” he added.
With the suspension effect Gabigol is free to train and play for Flamengo. The expectation, in fact, is that he will be available to Tite for the match against Amazonas on Wednesday.
