Machine Gun Kelly is known for throwing some pretty funny stunts , but his latest fling saw him smash a glass of champagne against the side of his head. I was very happy to joke about the ordeal with Seth Meyers, but fair warning: the video is pretty convoluted.
In an interview on Late night with Seth Meyers, Machine Gun Kelly talked about the sale of Madison Square Garden and how he celebrated the event, including smashing a glass of champagne over his head. He said:
You know when you clink a glass of champagne with a fork to get people’s attention? Yes, I didn’t have a fork. So I just hit my head. Yes, I had a severe case of that last night.
Wasting no time, Seth Meyers replied:
In medicine, this is called “asking”.
Machine Gun Kelly laughed, but someone filmed it all. Take a look below (be careful, it’s pretty gory):
The clip shows MGK proudly proclaiming “Brother, I don’t give a shit” before slamming the empty glass against his head. There’s a quick cut to his “ex’s best friend” performance, where you can see a major cut above his brow and a staggering amount of blood for a short on YouTube. Machine Gun Kelly concluded the video by taking a closer look at the injury, which he simply called “disgusting”.
His gimmick might seem excessive, but MGK had a lot to celebrate. He’d just played a sold out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden before heading to the Catch for some fun. The Empire State Building was even lit up in neon pink to herald the occasion.
Tour to promote his new album cover sale, which turned out to live up to its name. It reached number one on the Billboard 200 album chart in April, with nearly equal number of physical and streaming equivalent album sales.
Machine Gun Kelly had also just released her documentary Life in pink, following the ups and downs of fame, being the father of 12-year-old daughter Casie and making music during quarantine. Fans will be pleased to note that the film also features social media superstar Megan Fox and MGK’s bride . The actress stood out her continued support for her boyfriend including a terrifying moment when she spoke to him from a suicide attempt .
Fortunately, Machine Gun Kelly seems to have the wind in their sails. As long as you stay away from flimsy champagne dishes, you’ve got a big chunk of your pink life to look forward to.
